Ready in 20 minutes

Serves 9 servings

Ingredients

  • 350g minced beef

  • 2 tbsp beetroot salsa

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp ground cumin

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 9 slider buns

  • 9 slices of cheese

  • 1/2 cup grated cheese

  • Pickled cucumbers (optional)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

For the Creamy Beetroot Salsa Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt

  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 2-3 tbsp beetroot salsa

Preparation

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. Add the diced onion and sauté until softened and translucent.

  3. Stir in the spices and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  4. Add the minced beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks.

  5. Stir in 2 tablespoons of beetroot salsa, mixing well. Remove from heat.

  6. Preheat your oven to 180°C.

  7. Place the bottom halves of the slider buns on a baking tray.

  8. Add a slice of cheese to each bun, followed by a generous scoop of the minced beef mixture.

  9. Sprinkle grated cheese over the beef and cover with the top halves of the buns.

  10. Place the tray in the oven for 3–5 minutes, just until the cheese melts and the buns are slightly toasted.

  11. While the sliders are in the oven, whisk together the Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, and 2–3 tablespoons of beetroot salsa in a small bowl. Adjust the salsa amount to taste.

  12. Remove the sliders from the oven and drizzle the creamy beetroot salsa sauce over the top or serve it on the side for dipping.
